Fire Burns Several Acres Near Briones Reservoir
Numerous agencies assisted with the blaze.

EAST BAY, CA -- Firefighters from multiple departments helped extinguish a vegetation fire that burned about seven acres early this morning near the Briones Reservoir in unincorporated Contra Costa County.
The fire was first reported at about 1 a.m. near Alhambra Valley and Bear Creek roads, according to Contra Costa Fire Protection District Fire Marshal Robert Marshall.
The fire reportedly began as several small fires that had merged into one larger fire, Marshall said.

With help from fire crews from the East Bay Regional Parks District, Cal Fire, Rodeo-Hercules and Pinole, firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within about an hour, according to Marshall.
No structures were damaged during the fire and no injuries were reported, Marshall said.

Fire officials are continuing to investigate what caused the fire.
