Fire Causes $300K In Damages To Concord Duplex
Six dogs rescued in the weekend blaze, officials said.

CONCORD, CA – Firefighters brought a two-alarm fire in Concord under control Saturday night, officials with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.
At 10:15 p.m. Saturday, a fire in a duplex in the 1600 block of Deardorff Lane was under control, but not before doing about $300,000 in damage, Fire Marshal Robert Marshall said.
Just before 9:30 p.m. someone called to report the blaze. The first crews to arrive found heavy fire in the rear of the duplex.

"The fire was well involved in that second unit," Marshall said.
The size of the fire and a report by neighbors that a family might be inside prompted fire officials to call for a second alarm.

When it turned out that no one was inside, firefighters had the blaze out in about 25 minutes, Marshall said.
Firefighters rescued six dogs that were outside.
No one was injured. Marshall said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
