Fire Damages Concord Apartment

BREAKING: Contra Costa County firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a first-floor unit, an official said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A one-alarm fire burned an apartment Monday afternoon in Concord, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said. The fire was reported at 2:05 p.m. at 1050 Oak Grove Road, where the Oak Grove Apartments are located.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a first-floor unit, fire Capt. George Laing said. The fire was knocked down at 2:16 p.m. and declared under control about 15 minutes later.

Laing said no one was injured. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading beyond the one unit.
