Fire Damages Concord Garage

BREAKING: Contra Costa County firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

CONCORD, CA — A two-alarm structure fire broke out early Wednesday evening in the garage of a Concord home. Just after 5 p.m., firefighters with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to the blaze on Salem Street near Olympia Street, a county fire spokesperson and the United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County IAFF Local 1230 reported via Twitter.

At the scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage. They also found power lines down, fire officials said.

By 5:47 p.m., firefighters had brought the blaze under control, the spokesperson reported.
