Morning, Concord! It's Wednesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on today in town.

Here are the top stories today in Concord:
- "The Storm Door is officially open," the National Weather Service said Monday. As of Monday afternoon, the forecast for Concord said rain was possible again late Tuesday through the rest of the week. "The next system will arrive Tuesday afternoon bringing more rain showers and locally gusty winds as a front moves through the region. Additional systems will then continue to impact California throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend, some of which will have a decent moisture tap from the Central Pacific. - St. Demetrios church once again had to postpone its annual Greek festival this year, but that didn't stop organizers from creating a feast! They channeled their efforts into a great, big, Greek thank you for local firefighters. The weekend of Oct. 9 and 10 saw one crew of parishioners preparing the fixings for the gyros in individual cartons. Then, 24 hours later, more parishioners worked the grills to ready the pita bread and meat to complete each care package ahead of the early afternoon deliveries to the area fire stations. Opa! - The East Bay Municipal Utility District started saving 300,000 gallons more drinking water a day late last month, EBMUD officials said Monday. The utility district on Sept. 30, connected its recycled water system to Canyon Lakes Golf Course in San Ramon, saving hundreds of thousands of gallons a day, which can hydrate about 6,000 residents. - It turns out the frenzy wasn't all about cheesecake yesterday at the Cheesecake Factory in Walnut Creek. Walnut Creek officers were called to the restaurant around 5:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a man with a gun, police said in a prepared release. Upon arrival, officers detained several people and arrested two without incident and determined the altercation was a targeted act. Police canvassed the area and located a bag that contained a loaded Glock handgun with two extra magazines, as well as a wallet belonging to one of those arrested. Charges against the pair include possession of a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime. (News 24/680)
