Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- The California attorney general has filed a civil suit against major chemical companies to stop them dumping and releasing toxic materials from a chemical manufacturing plant near Pittsburg. The facility at 901 Loveridge Road sits less than a mile from the Corteva Wetlands and meets the shore of New York Slough at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers, so it is in a particularly environmentally sensitive area. The suit contends that the companies are treating wastewater with hazardous levels of toxic chemicals, and releasing uncontrolled toxic emissions into the air. (Claycord.com)
