Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- Pleasant Hill police are asking the public for help finding a stabbing suspect. The stabbing took place in the 3000 block of Putnam Boulevard at Oak Park Boulevard, according to police. The victim suffered serious injuries and is in stable condition. The victim and friends were riding their skateboards when the assailant allegedly threw eggs at them. The boys then threw something at the assailant's car. Three people exited the car and chased the victim, ultimately stabbing him several times. The suspect vehicle is described as an older model white four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla, with a sunroof and damage to the right front passenger window or the right front windshield. - It took the CHP, Pittsburg and Brentwood police assisting the Antioch police in taking down 3 carjackers that were said to be armed with assault-style rifles and a handgun. The suspects took police on a chase that ended on foot. Soon after the suspects exited the vehicle, they were caught. The carjacking took place in Concord and the suspects were arrested at the intersection of Golf Course Road and Lone Tree Way. (CBS San Francisco)
- Officials with both the National Park Service and the Federal Aviation Administration on Friday announced they're asking for the public's feedback on a plan to manage air tours over the Bay Area's national parks. Residents can give feedback on the plan at the project's website. In addition, residents can attend a virtual public meeting on the matter later this month, on Oct. 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on YouTube. (Claycord.com)
- It's a sad story out of Danville where animal service workers responded to a home and removed 70 - 75 dogs and approximately 25 cats from unsafe conditions. Animal Services worked with representatives from Animal Rescue Foundation, East Bay SPCA and Berkeley Humane to safely remove the majority of the animals from the property to be medically evaluated and sheltered. Animal Services will continue to be assessing the remaining animals on the property. (East County Today)
- Brentwood Police Department officers responded to a solo vehicle collision at Concord Avenue and Bacchini Lane early Sunday morning. A vehicle traveling eastbound on Concord Avenue left the roadway and collided with a wooden split-rail fence. The passenger of the vehicle, a 27-year-old female from Hayward, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. The Brentwood Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact the Department's Traffic Safety Unit at (925) 634-6911. (East County Today)
