About the Martinez Community Swim Team (“MSCT) - The MCST Otters have been an active part of the Martinez community since 1980. As one of the largest recreational swim teams in the East Bay, the Otters are a team of athletes, coaches, parents, and community members who value the hard work, persistence, and commitment that are necessary to have an enjoyable summer swim experience. We are all about having fun in the sun, racing through the water, and enjoying our community of friends. Membership is open to all swimmers between the ages of four and eighteen (as of June 15) and is not limited to the Martinez area.
Children of all swimming levels will find a spot on our team. The Little Otter Program is for 4, 5 and 6 year olds who are not yet ready to swim one length of a 25-yard pool without using the lane ropes for support. And, of course, more advanced swimmers will embrace the opportunities that come with training and competing with the Otters.
The team is administered by an elected parent board, instructed by a paid, experienced coaching staff, and inspired by the children and youth who make up the team.
