Citizen Locates Missing Antioch Man: Police
BREAKING: Police say Israel Ayoko has the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease and easily gets lost and/or confused.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA -- UPDATED: A man who went missing Sunday afternoon in Antioch was found early Monday morning, according to police. Israel Ayoko, 63, was located at 1:14 a.m. on Vasco Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County by a citizen, Antioch police said.
Ayoko had last been seen around 12:30 p.m. Sunday when he left his home in the 3100 block of Mountaire Drive to attend church in Oakland, but he never made it there, police said.
Ayoko is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease and also has a heart condition. After he was located, he was taken to a hospital for precautionary measures and is listed in stable condition, police said.

ORIGINAL POST: Antioch police are asking for help locating a man who was last seen early Sunday afternoon when he left his home to go to church in Oakland. Israel Ayoko, 63, left his home in the 3100 block of Mountaire Drive at about 12:30 p.m.
Ayoko has the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease and easily gets lost and/or confused. Police said he also has a heart condition that requires him to take medication and he failed to take that medication this morning.

Ayoko could suffer a medical emergency if he does not take the medication in the next 24 hours.
Police said Ayoko did not show up at church. He hasn't been seen since he left his home, but his vehicle was seen at 1:03 p.m. on westbound state Highway 4 near Somersville Road.
Ayoko is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 165 pounds with white hair and brown eyes. Police said Ayoko was last seen wearing a blue buttoned up shirt and black pants.
He may be wearing a black suit jacket.
Ayoko is driving a white 2004 Toyota Sequoia with California license plate No. 6KSH083.
