Monument Crisis Center Announces Emergency Food Distribution
Some who never faced this kind of need before will now be facing with those who struggle daily, the center's executive director said.
CONCORD, CA — Monument Crisis Center in Concord is stepping up to provide groceries for area families amid a shelter-in-place order in Contra Costa County. The county as well as seven others in the Bay Area began restricting residents to their homes Tuesday in an effort to curb the further spread of the new coronavirus — COVID-19 — in the region.
Monument Crisis Center, a family resource center at 1990 Market St. in Concord, announced Tuesday it is distributing emergency groceries from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday March 20, and again from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 24.
One bag of groceries per adult is available for anyone in need of emergency food for themselves and their families.
