First, today's weather:
Mostly cloudy and cool. High: 64 Low: 42.
Here are the top stories in Concord today:
- The BART Board of Directors' Redistricting Committee is scheduled to hold its first meeting since receiving the 2020 Census data to begin the process of redrawing election districts to align with current population information. BART election districts are redrawn every 10 years following the U.S. Census. The primary purpose of redistricting is to ensure population equality among districts. The virtual meeting will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 1 to 3 pm. Public involvement is encouraged. (Contra Costa Herald)
- Widespread rain is expected to return to the East Bay and Bay Area early next week, according to the National Weather Service. The storm is a "weak to potentially moderate atmospheric river" that will be preceded by wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Concord's best chance of strong rain is Monday night and into Tuesday. (Concord Patch)

- One person was killed on Interstate 680 in Dublin Friday after an early-morning chain reaction crash that ultimately closed the freeway southbound for several hours while officers investigated the cause of the collision. All lanes were reopened by 9:30 a.m. Preliminary findings indicated that alcohol or drug use was not a factor in the crash. The identity of the deceased driver was not released pending notification of relatives. (News 24/680)
- On Tuesday, the Antioch City Council will vote on whether or not to appoint Cornelius Johnson as Interim City Manager. Johnson would replace Antioch City Manager Ron Bernal who announced in September that he will retire at the close of 2021. Johnson has been part of the mayor's transition team since November. (East County Today)

- Come out for Fossils and Birds at the entrance to Shell Ridge open space in Walnut Creek. Enjoy spotting birds as you meander through the oak woodland and over to view million-year old fossils. (10 am)
- Try Self Defense & Awareness - Age 12 & up at Tomizaki's Champions Kung Fu Institute. Class includes a lecture on how to think smart, decision making skills, and awareness with self-defense and empowerment in mind. Then students work on practical applications and practice how to use them. (11 am)
- Cheer on the 'niners at 49ers vs Cardinals Watch Party at Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek. (12:30 pm)
- Sincerity and Serenade will be at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. Join the Sincerity Girls Ensemble and Serenade, an all boys vocal ensemble, as they perform their favorite group and solo acts from today's popular hits and favorite musicals. (6:30 pm)
