Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Highway 242 Near Concord

The collision involved an SUV and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, the California Highway Patrol said.

CONCORD, CA — A motorcyclist died Tuesday night in a collision with an SUV on state Highway 242 near Concord, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 11:12 p.m. on southbound SR-242, south of Willow Pass Road, the CHP said.

A black Toyota Highlander, with one occupant, was traveling southbound and a black Harley Davidson, with one rider, was traveling in front of the Highlander.

The Toyota rear-ended the Harley Davidson, ejecting the rider from the motorcycle, according to the CHP.

The rider was rushed to a hospital by emergency personnel but he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

The crash was still under investigation; authorities asked anyone who witnessed it or the events leading up to it to contact Contra Costa CHP in Martinez at 925-646-4980.
