- A Contra Costa jury has found Antioch's Rickie Keefer guilty of murder in the August, 2018 death of Debbie Shandrew from Concord. Shandrew was found stabbed to death in the rear of a shopping center by a security guard. A Concord police sergeant noticed a car parked elsewhere in the city that resembled the one seen in the shopping center's surveillance footage of the incident. Police testified that officers found bloody clothes in the car's trunk with DNA linking to Shandrew, as well as knives that Keefer claimed he had "just found." (The Mercury News)
