Pedestrian Injured In Concord

Police said the woman was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle exiting a driveway onto Clayton Road ran her over.

CONCORD, CA -- A pedestrian was injured Friday when she was struck by a vehicle as she was walking on a sidewalk in Concord. Officers with the Concord Police Department responded Friday at 4:30 p.m. to the area of Clayton Road and Wharton Way on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Police said the woman was walking on the sidewalk when a vehicle exiting a driveway onto Clayton Road ran her over.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and was listed in stable condition Friday night, police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.

Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to have played a factor in the incident.
