Pedestrian Killed In Pittsburg Hit-And-Run

The vehicle, identified as possibly a Ford F-150 pickup with a sunroof, fled the area.

PITTSBURG, CA -- Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a 35-year-old pedestrian early Saturday. The victim, identified as Antioch resident Michael Watkins, was believed to be walking westbound on Buchanan Road near Meadows Avenue around 4:30 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound, police said.

The vehicle, identified as possibly a Ford F-150 pickup with a sunroof, fled the area.

Aided by the city's video surveillance system and video from area businesses, police said they are following up on several leads in an effort to identify the responsible driver and vehicle.
