Person Died From Gunshot Wound At Concord House Fire: Police
The person died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to new information from police.

CONCORD, CA — The Concord Police Department released more information Friday about the death of a person at the scene of a house fire Thursday night.
Concord police and the Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded at 5:54 p.m. Thursday to reports of a structure fire in the 3500 block of Euclid Avenue. As firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, a person was found near the fire with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
A gun was found next to the person's body and the investigation indicated the fire was intentionally set by the deceased person, police said.

The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office was working Friday to identify the person and notify their next of kin.
The Concord Police Department and Contra Costa Fire's Fire Investigation Unit were investigating the incident as arson.

"There are no outstanding suspects and no ongoing risk to the public," Concord police said in a news release.
Police said no further details were being released at this time.
