Police Investigate Stabbing In Concord

A student at Mt. Diablo High School student came to school Monday morning suffering from a stab wound, police said.

CONCORD, CA — Police in Concord are investigating a stabbing Monday morning that left a Mt. Diablo High School student injured. According to the Concord Police Department, investigators believe the student drove himself to school to get help after he was stabbed in downtown Concord.

Concord police were contacted at 7:56 a.m. Monday about the stabbing, the Concord Police Department said in a news release.

"Officers and medical personnel located the victim, an 18-year-old male and resident of Concord, with a stab wound to his abdomen in the parking lot of Mt. Diablo High School," police officials said.

The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a minor stab wound to his abdomen, police said.

"The investigation has determined that the stabbing occurred in the downtown Concord area and not on the high school campus and that the victim drove himself to the school to get help after the crime," police said.

"At this time, there appears to be no connection between the incident and the school."
