Pregnant Woman Dies In Highway 4 Crash In Concord: CHP
BREAKING: The woman died about three hours after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 4 near Port Chicago Highway, according to the CHP.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA —A 20-year-old pregnant Bay Point woman died Tuesday night from injuries she suffered in a crash on Highway 4 in Concord, according to the California Highway Patrol. The woman was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, heading westbound near Port Chicago Highway, when she collided with a Honda Pilot SUV, careened into the center median and guardrail, overturned and rolled at least twice, CHP officials said.
The woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the Tahoe, according to the CHP. She was rushed to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she died from her injuries at 8:55 p.m.
Her passenger, a 29-year-old Oakley man whom CHP officials said also was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected from the Tahoe. He was taken to the hospital as well, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.

The crash left the blue Honda Pilot with minor damage; its driver, a 37-year-old Hercules woman, was not injured, according to the CHP.
CHP officials were continuing their investigation of the crash and said it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.

Officials said the initial evidence from the scene, along with independent witness statements, indicated the Tahoe was traveling at a high rate of speed when an unsafe turning movement was made, causing the collision with the Honda Pilot, officials said.
