San Francisco recorded the wettest October day ever and the fourth wettest day for any month on record. Check out the rest of the totals. They're eye-popping! (SFGate)
  2. At 7:30 am Monday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to reports of smoke and flames coming from a home in the 3700 block of Concord Ave. in unincorporated Brentwood. 3. As of Monday, Contra Costa County Public Works is still assessing many of the roadways that were closed due to impacts of the Sunday storm that hit the Bay Area. You can see the status of road closures as of Monday afternoon at this link. (Contra Costa County)
  4. The Martinez City Council met in September to begin conversations about how to best use American Rescue Plan Act funds to facilitate recovery for the City, local businesses and community at large. Feedback about spending priorities has been sought from the Parks, Recreation, Marina and Cultural Commission, the Planning Commission, and the Anti-Racism & Discrimination and Pro-Inclusion & Equity (ARDPIE) Task Force. The City Council plans to have a workshop on Thursday, October 28 at 7:00 PM via Zoom to accept feedback from these groups and consider spending priorities for these funds. (City of Martinez)
