2 Boaters, Dog Rescued Near Carquinez Bridge

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Two adults and a dog were rescued Sunday night from a boat in distress in the waters east of the Carquinez Bridge, U.S. Coast Guard and Benicia Fire Department officials said.

Fire officials first reported the incident on Twitter at 9:02 p.m.

As of 9:35 p.m. the two adults and the dog had been rescued and the boat was adrift and waiting to be salvaged.

The boaters were safely transferred to the USCG and taken to Vallejo, the department said.
