The boater was reported missing from the area of Indian Slough and Werner Cut, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Contra Costa County sheriff's Marine Patrol Unit continued its search Monday for a boater reported missing Sunday night from the waters near Discovery Bay. The 47-year-old man disappeared from the area of Indian Slough and a canal called Werner Dredger Cut that runs from Discovery Bay toward Bethel Island, according to the sheriff's office.

The man's boat was being towed to Orwood Resort in Brentwood when he apparently went into the water, sheriff's officials said, noting that the man's identity was not being publicized at this time.

Personnel with the U.S. Coast Guard, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, California Highway Patrol and Pittsburg Police Department assisted in the search, which has been unsuccessful thus far, the sheriff's office said Monday afternoon.
