Suspicious Bag Found In Front Of Concord Police Department

Police instructed the public to stay away until the bag is rendered safe.

CONCORD, CA — UPDATED: A bag found Wednesday afternoon in front of the Concord Police Department was cleared and determined to be safe, police said.

Galindo Street was reopened shortly before 4 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police instructed the public Wednesday afternoon to stay away from the Concord Police Department because of a suspicious bag.

As a precaution, Galindo Street was shut down from Laguna Street to Cowell Road until the bag, which was found in the front parking lot, can be rendered safe, police said.

"Stay out of the area and use alternate routes."

The roadways near the police department remained closed as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
