Teacher Accused Of Sex With Developmentally Disabled Adult
The alleged crimes involved a student at Loma Vista Adult Center, part of Mt. Diablo USD's "Bridge Program," police said.

CONCORD, CA – A 55-year-old teacher at the Loma Vista Adult Center in Concord was arrested on suspicion of engaging in sex with a developmentally disabled adult student, police said Thursday.
The Concord Police Department began an investigation Dec. 7, after receiving a report that a teacher, at the San Carlos Avenue facility, allegedly was having sex with a student, who was enrolled in the Bridge Program, which aids the disabled with independent living skills and academics and is offered through Mt. Diablo Unified School District’s Adult Education Department.
Investigators for the department's Special Victims Unit determined the victim "had an intellectual development level of a young teenager and therefore, is considered a dependent adult," police said, adding that engaging in sex with a person who is incapable of consent due to a mental or developmental disability is illegal.
