Just after 5:45 pm Thursday, Pittsburg Police Officers responded to the business located at 95 Bliss Avenue in regards to a vehicle theft where a one-year-old child was inside the car when it was taken. Police were informed that the father of the child had gotten out of the car and left the vehicle running with his daughter inside secured in a car seat. A woman approached and got into the car and drove off with the child before the father could stop her. A citizen reported seeing the woman on Harbor Street and police responded. The perpetrator is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility pending review of the case by the District Attorney. Thanks to our community for staying alert and assisting in the locating of the vehicle, child and responsible party. (East County Today)
