Synchronized swimmer Mariya Koroleva of Concord, a veteran of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts, competed in the duets at London Olympics.

The latter includes who first got in aquatic rhythm with the Walnut Creek Aquanuts. Koroleva and her duet partner Mary Killman finished 11th in the women's duets at the Olympics after making the medals round.

A month before going to London, Koroleva and Killman and the Walnut Creek Aquanuts gave a synchronized swimming demonstration at Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek.
