• Bay Area man drowns in Calaveras County lake (mercurynews.com) — A 31-year-old man from Campbell drowned Saturday in Lake Tulloch near the 900 block of Foothill Road in Copperopolis, after reportedly becoming fatigued while swimming back from a small island. Deputies and friends searched before recovery teams found his body later that afternoon about 28 feet below the surface, and the sheriff’s office has offered condolences while withholding his identity pending notification.
