The Coronado Historical Association’s annual Coronado Historic Home Tour will again be held on Mother’s Day—this year on Sunday, May 11, from 11 am to 4 pm. Six enchanting examples of architecture will be featured, from the classic lines of an historic English Tudor style, to a Spanish Eclectic bungalow hideaway and the hidden treasures of a traditional Mediterranean courtyard home.
One of the featured homes on the tour this year was a 2014 GEM Award finalist* for its remarkable renovation. A well-known Coronado landmark at 708 A Avenue, built in 1915 and known historically as the Sherman Mansion, this stunning 5,000+ sq.-ft. home on a 28,000 sq.-ft. corner lot has just undergone a full interior remodel and expansion.
Early-bird tickets purchased by April 30 are $30 for members, $35 for non-members; after April 30, tickets are $35 for members and $45 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased in advance either at the Coronado Visitor Center (operated by CHA), 1100 Orange Avenue, Coronado, or on-line at www.coronadohistory.org.
For further information or to purchase tickets by phone, call 619-435-7242.
*Aileen Oya, GRI, Advance Realty Coronado/Gym in Coronado is the 2014 Platinum Sponsor of the Historic Home Tour. The GEM Award was created by CHA to recognize renovations that best reflect the island’s history and character.
