Production May 27-June 26. Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 2pm

Email audition@coronadoplayhouse.com with your name, phone number and picture and resume (if available).  Please put "Sordid Lives" in the subject. Or call Mary L. Smith (619) 757-7186.  Appointments will be scheduled in five minute increments.

Audition Details: Prepare a 2 minute comedic monologue. Bring a headshot & resume (if available) and your calendar through June 26. All conflicts must be listed on audition form. Rehearsals will begin April 11.

Play Description: A black comedy about white trash! A colorful family from small town Texas must come to grips with the accidental death of the elderly family matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel with her much younger married neighbor. The woman's family must deal with their own demons while preparing for what could be an embarrassing funeral.

Cast List:

BITSY MAE HARLING the guitar playing ex-con singer. Must play guitar and sing. Bring guitar to audition and be prepared to sing and play. Also have a monologue.

TY WILLIAMSON 27, a beautiful gay man on a journey.

SISSY HICKEY mid 50s, the caretaker who picked the wrong day to quit smoking.

NOLETA NETHERCOTT early 40s, the angry overweight housewife.

LATRELLE WILLIAMSON early 50s, Ty's uptight, proper mother.

LA VONDA DUPREE late 40s, Latrelle's liberal-minded wordly sister.

G.W. NETERCOTT late 40s, the distraught legless Vietnam Vet.

WARDELL "BUBBA" OWENS late 40s, the former gay-bashing remorseful brother.

ODELL OWENS mid 40s, Wardell's worthless story telling brother.

DR. EVE BOLINGER late 40s, the over-sexed pill-popping, alcoholic therapist.

EARL "BROTHER BOY" INGRAM late 40s, the Tammy Wynette obsessed transvestite.

REV BARNES the Southern Baptist preacher. (Author's suggestion is to double cast with the actor playing ODELL)
