Bodysurfers Make Waves at the URT Womp
More than 100 bodysurfers competed in the third annual URT Womp on North Beach over the weekend.
The surf was 2-4', offshore and hollow for the URT Womp, a bodysurfing contest that included a record turnout of more than 100 participants, including 40 kids.
“We have perfect conditions today for bodysurfing,” URT's Dougie Mann said Sunday. URT is a clothing company founded by Mann and Ian Urtnowski, both of Coronado.
The URT Womp has morphed into a fun spectable of athletic ability, ocean passion and aloha that is held each summer at North Beach.
