City Fills Public Services Slot on Interim Basis
Former Encinitas city manager will return for his third temporary stint in Coronado until a permanent replacement can be found.

The City of Coronado has appointed former Encinitas City Manager Lauren M. Wasserman to the position of interim Director of Public Services until a permanent replacement can be found for Scott Huth.
, will leave at the end of December. Huth worked for Coronado for 22 years, 16 as Director of Public Services, a department with 42 full-time and 19 part-time employees.

An open recruitment for a permanent Public Services Director is planned for early next year, said City Manager Blair King. Wasserman, who begins in Coronado Jan. 3, is not a candidate for the permanent position.
Wasserman has worked two previous temporary positions in Coronado. In 2000, he was interim director of Engineering and Project Development, then in 2009, he served a stint as interim director of Community Development.

Wasserman also served as city manager in the cities of Montclair and Rancho Cucamonga, and was director of the Department of Land Use and Planning for the County of San Diego for six years.
As a consultant, he has served as interim city manager for Imperial Beach and has held various management positions in Oceanside, National City, La Habra and the County of San Bernardino.
