Crown Preschool Has Openings

Preschool Enrollment for 2015-2016

Crown Preschool, one of Coronado’s newest preschools, has openings in its 3-year old program for the fall. As the children enrolled might say: “I’m 3 and learning to be me!”

For families that want to enhance the developmental process for their children, Crown Preschool offers many opportunities. From the block area to the garden, the art easel to the snack table, the library to the dramatic play area, their time at Crown Preschool will provide valuable moments where they can develop the problem solving and social skills needed for success in Kindergarten and beyond. Swiss developmental psychologist Jean Piaget claimed, in order to think things through, children need to play things through. Guided by the Early Childhood Education professionals at Crown Preschool, children’s confidence and competence flourish as they think things through with others their age.

In addition to the children “learning through play,” Crown Preschool is unique in offering a collaboration of 3 curricula: Splash into Pre-K, Handwriting without Tears, and the Circle of Education. Splash into Pre-K is a comprehensive early learning program that integrates all of the curricular areas including Reading and Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health and Art into the daily instruction. Through the Splash into Pre-K program, the Crown Preschool teachers are able to help the children acquire the necessary readiness skills to learn as they start their journeys to become lifelong learners. Handwriting without Tears is a program designed to make handwriting easy to teach and easy to learn. Children use a variety of materials to form letters as well as practice their writing skills. The Circle of Education is a social-emotional curriculum developed by the chair of the family and child development department at San Diego State University. Crown Preschool is excited to be offering this new program to the community.
