
SAN DIEGO, CA – A small gray whale was spotted Monday morning in the San Diego Bay, according to the Port of San Diego.
San Diego Harbor Police initially saw the whale by the Sweetwater Channel. Hours later, it was spotted just north of the Coronado Bridge when it started breaching. It continued to swim north and was last spotted around 12:30 p.m. near the shipping channel off the Coast Guard station.
Officials said they believed the whale breached about nine times.

"It's been in the bay for at least a few days," officials said on social media.
