Infrastructure expert Patricia McColl joins HNTB as group director - rail in San Diego
McColl is well-known for her work on the Interstate 15 Bus Rapid Transit Stations in San Diego and has joined HNTB

Patricia McColl, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as group director - rail in the West Division. She brings more than 30 years of civil engineering design experience in Southern California.
In her role at HNTB, McColl serves as business development lead and mentor to the rail group for both planning and final engineering, as well as project manager for major regional project pursuits to further develop the rail practice. She is based in the firm’s San Diego, California, office.
McColl is recognized in the transit industry for her work on the recently completed Mid City Rapid Bus Project; the I -15 BRT Transit Stations at Rancho Bernardo and Del Lago; and the Del Mar Bluffs Trackbed Stabilization project.

“We are pleased to add Tricia to our rail leadership team as we continue to grow and meet the needs of clients throughout the West division,” said Kevin Reed, PE, HNTB San Diego office leader. “Her broad range of experience in all phases of civil engineering will help support HNTB’s role as trusted advisor to key agencies including the San Diego Association of Governments, Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District.”
Prior to joining HNTB, McColl worked with another consulting firm as senior transit engineering project manager and California business development leader. In addition, McColl is active in professional organizations including Women’s Transportation Seminar, American Public Works Association and the American Planning Association mentor program. She served two terms as president of the San Diego chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and received a Mayor’s commendation for the Bernardo Center Drive Emergency Landslide Repair.
McColl earned her Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from San Diego State University.
