Mental Health Awareness Month: How you can help a friend or loved one

Learn to recognize when someone you care about may need help and how to start a conversation about seeking treatment

During Mental Health Awareness Month, Optum San Diego and the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council are offering free mental health first aid courses.

May 28:  8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. conducted in Spanish

This eight-hour course teaches participants how to identify different types of mental illness such as depression, anxiety disorders, and substance use.  People will learn an action plan to help someone in crisis.
