Our Operation Engage America event is a very unique daylong event focused on helping our Veterans and their families connect to organizations, resources, programs and services related to Post Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other mental health needs, along with the other everyday sustainable living resources our Veteran community needs. To date, we are excited to note that we have approximately 70 organizations attending and staffing resource booths and tables along with four speakers. We are proud that San Diego Police and Fire will also be participating, as we are well aware that issues do not only affect our Veterans.Operation Engage America is an effort that was launched by us after our son Daniel, a CA Army National Guardsman, committed suicide on June 10, 2013. Daniel suffered from a multitude of stresses as a result of serving in battle and was unable to cope any longer with multi-system health issues in his valiant effort to access help and services. We have made it our mission to address the multiple barriers that kept Daniel from receiving the proper treatment he so desperately needed and have launched a day of education, support and awareness through the effort Operation Engage America (OEA) so others do not endure the same crisis. The event is on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 10am to 4pm at the Liberty Station Conference Center.
