Local organizations and individuals can host their own drives, then coordinate October 26 deliveries or cash donations, helping address rising food insecurity and costs across San Diego County.

Foodie Forecast: Hotel Del plans spooky tricks and treats through Halloween (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Coronado locals can dive into spooky season at the Hotel del Coronado, which is offering nightly Haunted Happenings tours, Ghost Roast bonfires, and weekend pumpkin-carving sessions through Halloween. 3. Coronado Swim Team Elite Becomes San Diego Swim Club Behind David Marsh, Sam Hoekstra (swimmingworldmagazine.com) — Families with swimmers in Coronado should know that Coronado Swim Team Elite has rebranded as San Diego Swim Club, but will continue training at the Coronado Community Center Aquatics Center. The club is expanding countywide with added practices at UC San Diego, new leadership roles, and a larger coaching staff while still honoring its Coronado roots.
   

4. Heather Morris featured at author event in November (thecoronadonews.com) — Coronado book lovers can meet bestselling author Heather Morris in person when she discusses her new novel, "The Piano Teacher of Montparnasse," at the Coronado Public Library on November 10. The free event includes opportunities to preorder or purchase books and hear stories behind her internationally acclaimed historical fiction.
