• Chula Vista hires federal lobbyist, dropping Imperial Beach sewage crisis partnership for now (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Regional efforts to tackle the Tijuana River sewage crisis now involve Coronado indirectly, as Chula Vista hired a federal lobbyist but delayed a formal partnership with Imperial Beach. Chula Vista leaders instead asked staff to coordinate with Coronado, San Diego County, and other South Bay cities already lobbying on the issue before revisiting a broader joint strategy.
   

• Lemon Grove leaders select Tony Winney as permanent city manager (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Coronado residents may recognize Tony Winney, who once served as the city's assistant city manager and has now been chosen as the permanent city manager for Lemon Grove after a nationwide search. City leaders there praised his 25-plus years of municipal experience and approved a three-year contract, highlighting his regional government background that includes time in Coronado and National City.
