• Costa Mesa man pleads guilty to threats against Spitzer (latimes.com subscription) — A 63-year-old Costa Mesa resident has been sentenced to time served and two years of probation after pleading guilty to making criminal threats against Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer and other officials. The former county traffic engineer must also complete a year-long mental health program, following earlier accusations in a 2022 case that was ultimately dismissed.
