Leadership in Women's Sailing Award (sailingscuttlebutt.com) — A longtime Orange Coast College instructor in Costa Mesa has been honored with the 2026 national Leadership in Women’s Sailing Award for expanding opportunities for women mariners. Newport Beach’s Karen Prioleau spent years coordinating OCC’s Professional Mariner and Offshore Sailing programs, mentoring many local women into professional sailing and maritime careers across a range of vessels and training roles.
