• Covelo Woman Accused of Attempted Murder After Rifle Misfires During Alleged Robbery and Kidnapping (kymkemp.com) — Law enforcement is investigating a serious incident on Biggar Lane in Covelo, where deputies say a local man reported being threatened with a rifle and assaulted by his roommate before escaping with minor injuries. Two Covelo residents were later arrested on suspicion of weapon-related and other serious charges, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
   

• Update: Timber Fire in Mendocino County is now 100% contained (fresnobee.com) — Fire crews have fully contained the Timber Fire that started June 16 near Judge Webber Lane in Covelo, after it burned about nine acres over 16 days. Residents should know the blaze is ringed by control lines, meaning spread is unlikely, though some interior burning and mop-up work may continue while investigators look into the cause.
