• Culver City to Hold Communitywide Evacuation Thursday (westsidecurrent.com) — Culver City residents will hear evacuation sirens and see extra police and fire activity around El Marino Park this Thursday, September 24, from 7 to 9 p.m., but it's only a disaster drill. The annual exercise lets first responders, CERT volunteers, and neighbors practice evacuation and communication plans so the community is better prepared when a real emergency strikes.
• City Council Revs Up to Get AV Fleet Regulations in Order (culvercitycrossroads.com) — Culver City leaders have approved an urgency ordinance setting where autonomous vehicle fleet operations can locate, keeping them out of residential zones and sensitive sites like hospitals and fire stations. The rules limit towing and loading hours, require enclosed structures near homes, and respond to a surge of AV applications driven by the city's central location in the Los Angeles area.
