Bank Robber Caught After West Hollywood, Culver City Robberies: Police

Authorities arrested a man they say is responsible for two bank robberies this month.

CULVER CITY, CA — A man suspected of robbing a Culver City bank at the beginning of the month was arrested last week after getting caught robbing a second bank in West Hollywood, according to police.

The first robbery occurred on June 2 at around 1:10 p.m. on the 3800 block of Culver Center Drive.

"The suspect entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a demand note claiming to be armed. After obtaining cash from the teller, the suspect fled the area on foot," the Culver City Police Department said.

Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Shawn Greene, authorities said.

On June 12, Green was arrested by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's West Hollywood Station "after allegedly committing a similar bank robbery in their jurisdiction," police said.

Culver City detectives interviewed Green in West Hollywood. He admitted to committing the bank robbery in Culver City, according to police.

On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office's filed two counts of bank robbery against Greene, police said.
