Family Offers $100,000 to Help Find College Student Missing Since Saturday
A 19-year-old Berkeley student went missing from a USC fraternity party early Saturday morning.

The family of a 19-year-old UC Berkeley student who was last seen at a fraternity party near USC is offering a $100,000 reward today for information that helps located the missing athlete.
Eloi Vasquez, a Berkeley resident and UC Berkeley soccer player, disappeared about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of West 28th Street after attending a party with some friends, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman of the Media Relations Section.
Vasquez told his friends he was taking a walk and wanted to go to the beach, then left the party and did not return. Friends were unable to make contact with him the following morning, Eisenman said.

One of his friends told NBC4 that Vasquez called her around 2:15 a.m., and Vasquez said he was lost and scared. Vasquez had driven to Los Angeles from Northern California with friends for spring break.
His mother, Wendy Margolin, drove to Los Angeles Sunday to talk to police and distribute fliers about her missing son.

“It’s very out of the ordinary, he’s a top athlete, a soccer player at Cal,” Margolin told ABC7. “He’s very responsible, it’s very unusual. That’s why we drove all the way here. We’re really scared. I just want to find him and know where he is.”
Vasquez was described as a 6-foot tall Latino man weighing around 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T- shirt, gray pants and white tennis shoes, police said.
His mother said the young man does not have any money or ID on him.
The UC Berkeley athletics department issued a statement calling Vasquez “a wonderful young man who has excelled both academically and athletically here at Cal. Our entire Cal athletics family is very concerned for Eloi’s safety and our first priority is to help in any way we can to locate him.”
Police asked anyone with information regarding Vasquez’s whereabouts to call the LAPD Southwest Station’s watch commander at (213) 486-8582, or (877) LAPD-247.
