"Furious 7," "Selma," "American Sniper," Among Golden Trailer Nominees: Which Are Your Favorites?

The list of artists to be honored in Beverly Hills for this year's best trailers also includes "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1."

The marketing gurus behind films such as “Furious 7,” “Unbroken,” “Insurgent,” “Mad Max” and “American Sniper” were among the nominees announced today for the 16th annual Golden Trailer Awards, honoring the creators of movie trailers, commercials and posters.

Universal Pictures earned a leading 44 nominations, while Fox collected 41 and Lionsgate and Warner Bros. each earned 36. Prizes are handed out in 82 categories, including six new categories for this year: teaser, original score TV spot, billboard, fantasy/adventure poster, trailer for a TV series/mini-series and fantasy adventure TV spot.

In the drama film category, nominations went to trailers for “American Sniper,” “Fury,” “Gone Girl,” “Selma” and “Unbroken.” Nominated for action films were trailers for “Agent 47,” “The Equalizer,” “Furious 7,” “John Wick” and “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”

For animated/family films, nominations went to “Annie,” “Big Hero 6,” “Cinderella,” “Inside Out” and “Minions.” Comedy nominations went to “Get Hard,” “Spy,” “St. Vincent,” “Ted 2” and “Unfinished Business.”

Fantasy/adventure nominees are “The Divergent Series: Insurgent,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” and “The Zero Theorem.”

The awards will be presented May 6 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills.
