Suspect Surrenders For Alleged Hit&Run That Injured LAPD Sergeant
A woman pulled up next to the sergeant when the driver of a silver Cadillac Escalade rammed into the back of both of their cars.

CULVER CITY, CA – A driver who allegedly fled the scene after slamming into a Los Angeles police cruiser, seriously injuring an LAPD sergeant, has surrendered, authorities announced Thursday. Tommie Davis, 42, turned himself in at the LAPD’s Pacific Station Wednesday, before authorities turned him over to California Highway Patrol, the agency investigating the crash, CBS LA reported.
He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in the Inglewood Police Department's jail on $1 million bail, according to CHP and inmate records obtained by KTLA.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Bristol Parkway in Culver City, according to Officer Christopher No of the LAPD Media Relations Section.

She was sitting alone in her car at the intersection when a woman in another car pulled alongside her and tried to get the sergeant's attention during an apparent domestic violence incident, NBC4 reported. That's when the driver of a silver Cadillac Escalade rammed into the rear of both cars, according to the station.
The sergeant was listed in serious condition with broken bones but no life-threatening injuries, LAPD officer Christopher No said.

The woman may have been trying to flee a domestic violence incident involving an ex-boyfriend that occurred earlier in Inglewood, NBC4 reported. She was not hurt.
The sergeant was cut from the vehicle by firefighters and was rushed to the hospital.
LAPD told KTLA Thursday that it had no further information on the domestic violence investigation, and it was unknown whether Davis was expected to face charges in that case. Inmate records show that Davis is scheduled to appear in court Friday, KTLA reported.
