Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is planning appearances in San Jose and Vallejo Wednesday.

SAN JOSE - Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is planning appearances in San Jose and Vallejo Wednesday.

First the Vermont senator will make a public appearance at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road in San Jose.

Doors open at 10 a.m. and the program begins at 1 p.m.

Later that day, Sanders will also attend a rally at the Vallejo Waterfront Park at 298 Mare Island Way.

Sanders has fallen behind former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination and is hoping for a win in California's primary on June 7 to keep his campaign going.
