• Baristas at Several California Cafe Locations Join UFCW - The United Food & Commercial Workers International Union (ufcw.org) — Philz Coffee workers at the Cupertino Main location have officially joined the United Food & Commercial Workers union, joining baristas from San Francisco, Glendale, Torrance and Berkeley. Cupertino employees say they're seeking better wages, scheduling, safety protections and less invasive surveillance, with first contract talks expected later this month as organizing spreads among California coffee shops.
   

• High school football 2026: Friday's Week 7 scores, Saturday's schedule (fresnobee.com) — Cupertino High's football team fell to Homestead 44–20 in Thursday night action, one of many Week 7 scores from around the Bay Area. Local fans can still catch several big Saturday matchups, including Mitty-Serra and Bellarmine-Valley Christian, as the regular season heads into its final stretch.
