City Of Cupertino Housing Program For De Anza Students

The City of Cupertino has contributed $25,000 in grant funds to De Anza College for the creation of the Housing Program for De Anza Students. The Housing Program for De Anza Students consists of two new programs, the Housing Assistance Grants program and the House Sharing Program.

Housing Assistance Grants Program
De Anza College has partnered with West Valley Community Services to provide funds to be used directly for eviction prevention or move-in costs to support students maintain or secure stable housing in Cupertino so they may continue with their education at De Anza College. Eligible students must meet the eligibility requirements for the California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the Board of Governors Fee Waiver) in order to receive assistance ranging from $750 one-time, to a maximum aid amount of $1,500 per student. House Sharing Program
De Anza College has partnered with Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County and the Cupertino Senior Center to help expand the existing Catholic Charities home share program by recruiting potential Cupertino home share providers that could be matched with De Anza students. The home provider sets the monthly rent, (based on the Catholic Charities model), and the goal is to recruit providers that are willing to offer below market rate rent.
