Coroner IDs Pedestrian Killed In Santa Clara County

SUNNYVALE, CA – A man who was struck and killed by a car in Sunnyvale on Saturday night has been identified as 46-year-old Mark Klein, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Klein, a Sunnyvale resident, was hit near the intersection of South Pastoria and West Iowa avenues near downtown Sunnyvale, according to public safety officials.

Officers arrived to the intersection at 10:49 p.m. to find him in the street. Klein was declared dead at the scene despite first responder efforts to revive him, according to public safety officials.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, who said they are still determining why the crash happened.
