An emergency evacuation was called for Tuesday as the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office investigates a threatening phone call.

CUPERTINO, CA — An "all-clear" was issued for Cupertino High School at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after a threatening phone call received by the school prompted school and sheriff's officials to order an emergency evacuation of the campus. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's West Valley Division said in an update at 2:34 p.m. that sheriff's investigators and Cupertino High School officials found no danger to students or the surrounding community.

In an alert posted earlier on the school's website, officials stated that the campus with an enrollment of more than 2,000 had been cleared and that school officials were "working with our district office and law enforcement."

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office confirmed a large presence of officers responded to the Finch Avenue campus after a "robotic call" was received by the school threatening harm.

Students were asked to check-in with a parent by giving their location and letting them know they are safe.

As students evacuated, some reportedly ran to nearby places of business. An employee at Keller Williams posted on Twitter that as she and her co-workers saw students "running" from campus, they took them in. Bank of America also opened its doors to students, she wrote.
