Fee Hike Subject Of Stormwater Drainage Meeting
Cupertino residents may see a fee increase amounting to $1 a year to pay for stormwater program improvements.
CUPERTINO, CA -- Coming off a banner winter with abundance runoff from severe storms, the city is hosting a community meeting to review a proposed fee to fund a clean water and storm drainage program.
The meeting is scheduled for March 28 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Quinlan Community Center located in the QCC Craft Room at 10185 N. Stelling Road in Cupertino.
The program provides inspections and cleanings storm drain in addition to managing trash and litter in town. Construction oversight and environmental education are also included. These services are critical in sustaining a healthy environment and maintaining an aging infrastructure.

The new fee amounts to $12 per home per year, the first increase implemented in more than 25 years ago while costs continue to rise. The additional source of funding may also address some of the high-priority capital improvement projects included in the Storm Drain Master Plan.
